Investing.com – Netherlands stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Oil & Gas, Telecoms and Consumer Goods sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX gained 0.07%.
The best performers of the session on the AEX were ASML Holding NV (AS:ASML), which rose 2.79% or 4.20 points to trade at 154.48 at the close. Meanwhile, Altice NV (AS:ATCA) added 1.45% or 0.03 points to end at 2.17 and Philips Lighting NV (AS:LIGHT) was up 1.32% or 0.29 points to 22.31 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Galapagos NV (AS:GLPG), which fell 1.50% or 1.400 points to trade at 92.240 at the close. ASR Nederland NV (AS:ASRNL) declined 1.27% or 0.52 points to end at 40.34 and Akzo Nobel (AS:AKZO) was down 1.23% or 0.92 points to 73.68.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange by 71 to 56 and 10 ended unchanged.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was down 1.51% to 16.27.
Crude oil for December delivery was down 2.28% or 1.44 to $61.66 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in January fell 2.12% or 1.55 to hit $71.62 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.15% or 1.90 to trade at $1227.90 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.13% to 1.1423, while EUR/GBP fell 0.24% to 0.8726.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.02% at 96.06.
