Investing.com – Netherlands stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Healthcare, Technology and Industrials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX added 0.02%.
The best performers of the session on the AEX were Philips Lighting NV (AS:LIGHT), which rose 4.44% or 1.12 points to trade at 26.36 at the close. Meanwhile, Galapagos NV (AS:GLPG) added 4.04% or 3.020 points to end at 77.840 and Koninklijke Philips NV (AS:PHG) was up 2.23% or 0.79 points to 35.99 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Unilever NV DRC (AS:UNc), which fell 2.27% or 1.08 points to trade at 46.38 at the close. Aegon NV (AS:AEGN) declined 2.07% or 0.126 points to end at 5.966 and Koninklijke Ahold Delhaize NV (AS:AD) was down 1.65% or 0.331 points to 19.674.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange by 74 to 46 and 14 ended unchanged.
Shares in Koninklijke Philips NV (AS:PHG) rose to 5-year highs; up 2.23% or 0.79 to 35.99.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was down 3.33% to 11.65.
Crude oil for June delivery was up 0.28% or 0.19 to $67.44 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in July fell 0.10% or 0.07 to hit $73.06 a barrel, while the June Gold Futures contract fell 0.07% or 0.90 to trade at $1305.90 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.32% to 1.1955, while EUR/GBP fell 0.20% to 0.8790.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.26% at 92.52.
