Investing.com – Netherlands stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Oil & Gas, Telecoms and Basic Materials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX rose 0.00%.
The best performers of the session on the AEX were SBM Offshore NV (AS:SBMO), which rose 1.67% or 0.25 points to trade at 15.19 at the close. Meanwhile, Koninklijke Boskalis Westminster NV (AS:BOSN) added 1.18% or 0.36 points to end at 30.77 and Royal Dutch Shell PLC Class A (AS:RDSa) was up 0.98% or 0.260 points to 26.695 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Gemalto (AS:GTO), which fell 2.69% or 0.94 points to trade at 33.88 at the close. Koninklijke Philips NV (AS:PHG) declined 1.09% or 0.38 points to end at 34.63 and Koninklijke Ahold Delhaize NV (AS:AD) was down 0.84% or 0.135 points to 16.030.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange by 69 to 52 and 12 ended unchanged.
Shares in Royal Dutch Shell PLC Class A (AS:RDSa) rose to 52-week highs; up 0.98% or 0.260 to 26.695.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was up 4.05% to 11.37.
Crude oil for December delivery was up 0.22% or 0.12 to $54.02 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in January rose 0.18% or 0.11 to hit $60.24 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.46% or 5.85 to trade at $1277.65 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.22% to 1.1633, while EUR/GBP fell 0.29% to 0.8809.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.26% at 94.47.
