Investing.com – Netherlands stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Basic Materials, Industrials and Financials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX added 0.00%.
The best performers of the session on the AEX were Philips Lighting NV (AS:LIGHT), which rose 4.19% or 1.03 points to trade at 25.64 at the close. Meanwhile, ArcelorMittal SA (AS:MT) added 3.93% or 1.020 points to end at 26.950 and Aegon NV (AS:AEGN) was up 2.67% or 0.140 points to 5.380 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Randstad NV (AS:RAND), which fell 5.08% or 2.59 points to trade at 48.43 at the close. Relx PLC (AS:REL) declined 2.23% or 0.385 points to end at 16.900 and Unilever NV DRC (AS:UNc) was down 1.94% or 0.94 points to 47.23.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange by 66 to 60 and 10 ended unchanged.
Shares in Randstad NV (AS:RAND) fell to 52-week lows; down 5.08% or 2.59 to 48.43.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was down 4.51% to 12.19.
Crude oil for November delivery was up 1.08% or 0.75 to $70.34 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in November rose 0.18% or 0.14 to hit $79.17 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.48% or 5.80 to trade at $1208.70 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.16% to 1.1684, while EUR/GBP rose 0.02% to 0.8875.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.16% at 94.07.
