Investing.com – Morocco stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the Insurance, Beverage and Forestry & Paper sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Casablanca, the Moroccan All Shares declined 1.04% to hit a new 52-week low.
The best performers of the session on the Moroccan All Shares were Ciments Du Maroc (CS:SCM), which rose 8.40% or 141 points to trade at 1820 at the close. Meanwhile, Alliances (CS:ADI) added 7.58% or 8 points to end at 115 and Maghrebail (CS:MAB) was up 5.44% or 49 points to 949 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Wafa Assurance (CS:WASS), which fell 9.98% or 472 points to trade at 4257 at the close. BMCI (CS:BMCI) declined 9.60% or 92 points to end at 866 and Saham Assurance (CS:SAH) was down 7.84% or 120 points to 1411.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Casablanca Stock Exchange by 26 to 17 and 6 ended unchanged.
Shares in Wafa Assurance (CS:WASS) fell to 52-week lows; falling 9.98% or 472 to 4257.
Crude oil for August delivery was up 0.97% or 0.71 to $74.16 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in September rose 1.93% or 1.50 to hit $79.11 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract rose 0.42% or 5.20 to trade at $1256.20 a troy ounce.
EUR/MAD was up 0.30% to 11.0780, while USD/MAD fell 0.61% to 9.4890.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.77% at 94.27.
