Investing.com – Morocco stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the Oil & Gas, Utilities and Insurance sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Casablanca, the Moroccan All Shares lost 0.67%.
The best performers of the session on the Moroccan All Shares were Stroc Industrie (CS:STR), which rose 4.95% or 2.50 points to trade at 53.00 at the close. Meanwhile, SMI (CS:SMI) added 4.08% or 98 points to end at 2498 and Managem (CS:MNG) was up 3.30% or 27 points to 842 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Promopharm S.A. (CS:PRO), which fell 5.65% or 75 points to trade at 1251 at the close. Taqa Morocco SA (CS:TQM) declined 4.65% or 32.00 points to end at 656.00 and Afriquia Gaz (CS:AGAZ1) was down 4.51% or 91 points to 1925.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Casablanca Stock Exchange by 22 to 10 and 8 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for June delivery was down 2.50% or 1.15 to $44.77 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in July fell 3.04% or 1.44 to hit $45.93 a barrel, while the June Gold contract rose 0.48% or 6.25 to trade at $1296.75 a troy ounce.
EUR/MAD was up 0.23% to 11.0120, while USD/MAD fell 0.51% to 9.5422.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.51% at 92.55.
