Investing.com – Morocco stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Insurance, Forestry & Paper and Mining sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Casablanca, the Moroccan All Shares fell 0.06%.
The best performers of the session on the Moroccan All Shares were Cosumar (CS:CSMR), which rose 2.87% or 5 points to trade at 179 at the close. Meanwhile, BMCI (CS:BMCI) added 2.67% or 20 points to end at 770 and BCP (CS:BCP) was up 1.95% or 5.20 points to 272.20 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Wafa Assurance (CS:WASS), which fell 9.52% or 400 points to trade at 3800 at the close. Saham Assurance (CS:SAH) declined 6.07% or 93 points to end at 1440 and Taslif (CS:TSF1) was down 5.96% or 1.67 points to 26.33.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Casablanca Stock Exchange by 18 to 14 and 5 ended unchanged.
Shares in Wafa Assurance (CS:WASS) fell to 52-week lows; falling 9.52% or 400 to 3800.
Crude oil for September delivery was down 2.95% or 1.98 to $65.06 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in October fell 2.10% or 1.52 to hit $70.94 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 1.42% or 17.10 to trade at $1183.60 a troy ounce.
EUR/MAD was up 0.01% to 10.8620, while USD/MAD rose 0.06% to 9.5815.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.08% at 96.63.
