Investing.com – Morocco stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Mining, Chemicals and Construction & Building Materials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Casablanca, the Moroccan All Shares gained 0.50% to hit a new 5-year high.
The best performers of the session on the Moroccan All Shares were Cartier Saada (CS:CRS), which rose 8.19% or 1.95 points to trade at 25.75 at the close. Meanwhile, Micro Data SA (CS:MIC) added 6.32% or 18.00 points to end at 303.00 and Dari Couspate SA (CS:DRI) was up 5.00% or 200 points to 4200 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Maghreb Oxygene (CS:OXYG), which fell 5.97% or 9.55 points to trade at 150.45 at the close. Hps (CS:HPS) declined 3.80% or 79.00 points to end at 2000.00 and Stroc Industrie (CS:STR) was down 3.13% or 1.60 points to 49.50.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Casablanca Stock Exchange by 30 to 14 and 6 ended unchanged.
Shares in Micro Data SA (CS:MIC) rose to all time highs; rising 6.32% or 18.00 to 303.00. Shares in Dari Couspate SA (CS:DRI) rose to all time highs; gaining 5.00% or 200 to 4200.
Crude oil for March delivery was up 0.29% or 0.19 to $64.69 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in April rose 0.38% or 0.26 to hit $68.78 a barrel, while the February Gold Futures contract rose 0.43% or 5.80 to trade at $1341.20 a troy ounce.
EUR/MAD was up 0.09% to 11.3760, while USD/MAD fell 0.18% to 9.1478.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.18% at 88.86.
