Investing.com – Microsoft (NASDAQ:MSFT) led the decliners on the Dow Jones as an industry report released on Tuesday showed that Firefox managed to overtake both its browsers, Internet Explorer and Edge, in market share.
Mozilla’s Firefox grabbed a 15.6% market share in April, beating out Microsoft’s combined market share of 15.5%, according to an analysis by StatCounter.
However, the data also showed that both Firefox and Microsoft’s Internet Explorer and Edge had been losing ground for the last three months to a steadily increasing share grabbed by Alphabet Inc (NASDAQ:GOOGL)’s Chrome which settled at 60.5% in April.
Market share for the likes of Apple Inc (NASDAQ:AAPL)’s Safari, Opera and others combined had been stable at 8.4% for the last three months, according to StatCounter.
At 14:47GMT, or 10:47AM ET, Microsoft fell 1.85% to $50.87, the largest percentage losses on the Dow Jones.
