Investing.com – Mexico stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Materials, Industrials and Consumer Staples sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Mexico, the S&P/BMV IPC declined 1.13%.
The best performers of the session on the S&P/BMV IPC were Grupo Financiero Santander Mexico SAB de CV Class B (MX:BSMXB), which rose 1.70% or 0.470 points to trade at 28.190 at the close. Meanwhile, Grupo Aeroportuario Del CentroNorte (MX:OMAB) added 1.58% or 1.560 points to end at 100.600 and Alsea , S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ALSEA) was up 1.29% or 0.900 points to 70.460 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Industrias Penoles Sab De CV (MX:PENOLES), which fell 3.98% or 15.61 points to trade at 376.93 at the close. El Puerto De Liverpool Sab De CV (MX:LIVEPOLC1) declined 3.83% or 4.78 points to end at 120.00 and Grupo Mexico, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:GMEXICOB) was down 3.65% or 2.270 points to 59.900.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Mexico Stock Exchange by 166 to 136 and 11 ended unchanged.
Gold Futures for June delivery was down 0.11% or 1.50 to $1305.30 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in June rose 0.61% or 0.41 to hit $67.66 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract fell 0.10% or 0.07 to trade at $73.06 a barrel.
USD/MXN was up 0.74% to 19.0944, while EUR/MXN rose 0.33% to 22.8073.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.37% at 92.62.
