Investing.com – Mexico stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Healthcare, Telecoms Services and Materials sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Mexico, the S&P/BMV IPC declined 0.53%.
The best performers of the session on the S&P/BMV IPC were Grupo Aeroportuario del Pacifico SAB De CV Class B (MX:GAPB), which rose 3.23% or 5.69 points to trade at 181.99 at the close. Meanwhile, Industrias Penoles Sab De CV (MX:PENOLES) added 1.98% or 6.25 points to end at 322.25 and PINFRA SAB De CV (MX:PINFRA) was up 1.66% or 3.20 points to 195.72 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Grupo Bimbo, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:BIMBOA), which fell 3.63% or 1.450 points to trade at 38.470 at the close. El Puerto De Liverpool Sab De CV (MX:LIVEPOLC1) declined 2.84% or 3.95 points to end at 135.00 and Grupo Elektra , S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ELEKTRA) was down 2.75% or 19.20 points to 678.06.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Mexico Stock Exchange by 169 to 121 and 13 ended unchanged.
Gold Futures for August delivery was down 0.69% or 8.40 to $1215.30 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in September fell 1.40% or 0.96 to hit $67.80 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract fell 2.33% or 1.73 to trade at $72.48 a barrel.
USD/MXN was down 0.20% to 18.6101, while EUR/MXN fell 0.46% to 21.7004.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.13% at 94.45.
