Investing.com – Mexico stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Materials, Industrials and Healthcare sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Mexico, the S&P/BMV IPC lost 0.51% to hit a new 52-week low.
The best performers of the session on the S&P/BMV IPC were Grupo Elektra , S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ELEKTRA), which rose 4.04% or 33.89 points to trade at 871.99 at the close. Meanwhile, El Puerto De Liverpool Sab De CV (MX:LIVEPOLC1) added 1.88% or 2.36 points to end at 127.99 and Megacable Holdings, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:MEGACPO) was up 1.84% or 1.720 points to 95.000 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Grupo Mexico, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:GMEXICOB), which fell 4.59% or 1.870 points to trade at 38.910 at the close. Cemex SAB de CV (MX:CMXCPO) declined 3.72% or 0.350 points to end at 9.070 and Industrias Penoles Sab De CV (MX:PENOLES) was down 3.06% or 7.17 points to 227.42.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Mexico Stock Exchange by 98 to 60 and 14 ended unchanged.

Shares in Industrias Penoles Sab De CV (MX:PENOLES) fell to 52-week lows; falling 3.06% or 7.17 to 227.42.
Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.01% or 0.10 to $1227.90 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in January fell 1.41% or 0.77 to hit $53.86 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract fell 1.48% or 0.94 to trade at $62.54 a barrel.
USD/MXN was up 0.31% to 20.3081, while EUR/MXN rose 0.49% to 23.1605.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.19% at 96.400.
