Investing.com – Mexico stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the Materials, Industrials and Telecoms Services sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Mexico, the S&P/BMV IPC declined 0.39%.
The best performers of the session on the S&P/BMV IPC were Alsea , S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ALSEA), which rose 1.14% or 0.700 points to trade at 62.090 at the close. Meanwhile, Arca Continental , S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:AC) added 1.13% or 1.55 points to end at 138.72 and Banregio Grupo Financiero SAB De CV (MX:GFREGIOO) was up 0.73% or 0.84 points to 116.16 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Industrias Penoles Sab De CV (MX:PENOLES), which fell 6.09% or 26.59 points to trade at 410.35 at the close. Gentera SAB de CV (MX:GENTERA) declined 3.22% or 0.540 points to end at 16.240 and Alfa, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ALFAA) was down 2.03% or 0.480 points to 23.160.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Mexico Stock Exchange by 256 to 72 and 14 ended unchanged.
Gold Futures for April delivery was down 0.91% or 12.20 to $1335.70 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in March fell 1.11% or 0.73 to hit $65.07 a barrel, while the April Brent oil contract fell 1.51% or 1.05 to trade at $68.60 a barrel.
USD/MXN was up 1.40% to 18.5976, while EUR/MXN rose 0.97% to 23.1692.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.63% at 89.04.
