Investing.com – Mexico stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Materials, Telecoms Services and Healthcare sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Mexico, the S&P/BMV IPC fell 0.37%.
The best performers of the session on the S&P/BMV IPC were Kimberly - Clark De Mexico A (MX:KIMBERA), which rose 2.20% or 0.680 points to trade at 31.640 at the close. Meanwhile, Alpek, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ALPEKA) added 1.95% or 0.550 points to end at 28.740 and El Puerto De Liverpool Sab De CV (MX:LIVEPOLC1) was up 1.65% or 1.93 points to 118.83 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Megacable Holdings, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:MEGACPO), which fell 3.99% or 3.420 points to trade at 82.350 at the close. Industrias Penoles Sab De CV (MX:PENOLES) declined 3.52% or 12.13 points to end at 332.79 and Grupo LALA SA de CV (MX:LALAB) was down 2.41% or 0.49 points to 19.81.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Mexico Stock Exchange by 223 to 112 and 12 ended unchanged.
Shares in Grupo LALA SA de CV (MX:LALAB) fell to all time lows; down 2.41% or 0.49 to 19.81.
Gold Futures for August delivery was down 0.22% or 2.80 to $1277.30 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in August fell 1.10% or 0.72 to hit $64.97 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract fell 0.24% or 0.18 to trade at $75.16 a barrel.
USD/MXN was up 0.04% to 20.5348, while EUR/MXN fell 0.18% to 23.7967.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.24% at 94.64.
