Investing.com – Mexico stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Telecoms Services, Consumer Staples and Industrials sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Mexico, the S&P/BMV IPC lost 0.23%.
The best performers of the session on the S&P/BMV IPC were BanRegio Grupo Financiero SAB de CV (MX:RA), which rose 2.78% or 2.76 points to trade at 102.07 at the close. Meanwhile, Grupo Mexico, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:GMEXICOB) added 2.25% or 1.000 points to end at 45.410 and Gentera SAB de CV (MX:GENTERA) was up 2.21% or 0.300 points to 13.850 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Megacable Holdings, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:MEGACPO), which fell 2.45% or 2.220 points to trade at 88.260 at the close. Becle SA (MX:CUERVO) declined 1.85% or 0.450 points to end at 23.880 and Grupo Aeroportuario Del CentroNorte (MX:OMAB) was down 1.74% or 1.900 points to 107.000.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Mexico Stock Exchange by 152 to 150 and 14 ended unchanged.
Gold Futures for February delivery was down 0.32% or 4.05 to $1279.95 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in March rose 1.01% or 0.53 to hit $53.15 a barrel, while the March Brent oil contract fell 0.11% or 0.07 to trade at $61.07 a barrel.
USD/MXN was down 0.01% to 19.0196, while EUR/MXN fell 0.61% to 21.5161.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.46% at 96.215.
