Investing.com – Mexico stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Materials, Industrials and Consumer Staples sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Mexico, the S&P/BMV IPC lost 0.21%.
The best performers of the session on the S&P/BMV IPC were Grupo Televisa SAB Unit (BMV:TLEVISACPO), which rose 5.06% or 0.38 points to trade at 7.89 at the close. Meanwhile, Gentera SAB de CV (BMV:GENTERA) added 2.09% or 0.45 points to end at 21.95 and Coca-Cola Femsa SAB de CV (BMV:KOFUBL) was up 1.68% or 2.82 points to 170.19 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Grupo Mexico, S.A.B. De C.V. (BMV:GMEXICOB), which fell 3.03% or 3.23 points to trade at 103.51 at the close. Orbia Advance Corporation SAB de CV (BMV:ORBIA) declined 2.65% or 0.60 points to end at 22.03 and Kimberly - Clark De Mexico A (BMV:KIMBERA) was down 2.02% or 0.69 points to 33.52.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Mexico Stock Exchange by 141 to 81 and 17 ended unchanged.
Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.42% or 10.80 to $2,552.10 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in October fell 0.77% or 0.57 to hit $73.09 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract rose 0.05% or 0.04 to trade at $77.20 a barrel.
USD/MXN was up 0.07% to 19.00, while EUR/MXN unchanged 0.02% to 21.14.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.49% at 101.24.
