Investing.com – Mexico stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the Materials, Healthcare and Consumer Staples sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Mexico, the S&P/BMV IPC declined 0.03%.
The best performers of the session on the S&P/BMV IPC were Megacable Holdings, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:MEGACPO), which rose 6.36% or 5.140 points to trade at 86.000 at the close. Meanwhile, Grupo Televisa SAB Unit (MX:TLVACPO) added 4.56% or 2.92 points to end at 67.02 and Alfa, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ALFAA) was up 2.15% or 0.500 points to 23.770 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Becle SA (MX:CUERVO), which fell 6.33% or 2.160 points to trade at 31.970 at the close. Cemex SAB de CV (MX:CMXCPO) declined 4.03% or 0.490 points to end at 11.670 and Grupo Financiero Santander Mexico SAB de CV Class B (MX:BSMXB) was down 3.17% or 0.900 points to 27.450.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Mexico Stock Exchange by 139 to 116 and 13 ended unchanged.
Shares in Cemex SAB de CV (MX:CMXCPO) fell to 52-week lows; falling 4.03% or 0.490 to 11.670.
Gold Futures for June delivery was up 0.51% or 6.70 to $1324.60 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in June fell 0.23% or 0.16 to hit $68.03 a barrel, while the June Brent oil contract fell 0.37% or 0.28 to trade at $74.46 a barrel.
USD/MXN was down 1.02% to 18.6206, while EUR/MXN fell 0.80% to 22.5886.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.08% at 91.32.
