Investing.com – Mexico stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the Consumer Staples, Materials and Healthcare sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Mexico, the IPC lost 0.37% to hit a new 1-month low.
The best performers of the session on the IPC were Grupo Elektra , S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ELEKTRA), which rose 6.05% or 46.97 points to trade at 823.44 at the close. Meanwhile, Ohl Mexico, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:OHLMEX) added 3.85% or 0.960 points to end at 25.870 and Grupo LALA SA de CV (MX:LALAB) was up 2.76% or 0.86 points to 32.06 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Mexichem , S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:MEXCHEM), which fell 2.60% or 1.260 points to trade at 47.280 at the close. Arca Continental , S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:AC) declined 2.56% or 3.29 points to end at 125.24 and Fomento Economico Mexicano UBD (MX:FMSAUBD) was down 2.16% or 3.79 points to 171.81.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Mexico Stock Exchange by 115 to 108 and 8 ended unchanged.
Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.30% or 4.03 to $1325.27 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in October fell 0.02% or 0.01 to hit $49.88 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract rose 0.11% or 0.06 to trade at $55.53 a barrel.
USD/MXN was down 0.13% to 17.6437, while EUR/MXN rose 0.11% to 21.0816.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.25% at 91.81.
