Investing.com – Mexico stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Industrials, Materials and Consumer Staples sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Mexico, the IPC lost 0.11%.
The best performers of the session on the IPC were Banregio Grupo Financiero SAB De CV (MX:GFREGIOO), which rose 2.36% or 2.340 points to trade at 101.570 at the close. Meanwhile, Grupo Financiero Santander Mexico (MX:SANMEXB) added 2.25% or 0.750 points to end at 34.140 and Genomma Lab Internacional SAB De CV (MX:LABB) was up 1.82% or 0.340 points to 19.040 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Ohl Mexico, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:OHLMEX), which fell 2.57% or 0.580 points to trade at 22.020 at the close. Grupo Aeroportuario Del Pacifico (MX:GAPB) declined 2.03% or 3.750 points to end at 181.190 and Kimberly - Clark De Mexico A (MX:KIMBERA) was down 1.62% or 0.710 points to 43.000.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Mexico Stock Exchange by 111 to 60 and 7 ended unchanged.
Gold for August delivery was down 0.14% or 1.70 to $1213.00 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in July fell 0.06% or 0.03 to hit $48.98 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract rose 0.30% or 0.15 to trade at $49.87 a barrel.
USD/MXN was up 0.77% to 18.6718, while EUR/MXN rose 0.44% to 20.8176.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.14% at 95.55.
