Investing.com – Mexico stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Materials, Industrials and Healthcare sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Mexico, the S&P/BMV IPC gained 0.46% to hit a new 1-month high.
The best performers of the session on the S&P/BMV IPC were Mexichem , S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:MEXCHEM), which rose 3.62% or 1.670 points to trade at 47.810 at the close. Meanwhile, Genomma Lab Internacional SAB De CV (MX:LABB) added 3.03% or 0.370 points to end at 12.570 and Grupo LALA SA de CV (MX:LALAB) was up 2.67% or 0.61 points to 23.49 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Banco Del Bajio SA Institution De Banca Multiple (MX:BBAJIOO), which fell 2.24% or 0.930 points to trade at 40.550 at the close. Megacable Holdings, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:MEGACPO) declined 1.69% or 1.500 points to end at 87.050 and Alpek, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ALPEKA) was down 1.43% or 0.380 points to 26.150.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Mexico Stock Exchange by 166 to 131 and 12 ended unchanged.
Gold Futures for February delivery was up 0.38% or 4.85 to $1293.25 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in February rose 0.44% or 0.23 to hit $52.34 a barrel, while the March Brent oil contract rose 1.15% or 0.70 to trade at $61.34 a barrel.
USD/MXN was down 0.48% to 18.8970, while EUR/MXN fell 0.63% to 21.5322.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.07% at 95.743.
