Investing.com – Mexico stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Materials, Healthcare and Telecoms Services sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Mexico, the S&P/BMV IPC added 0.33%.
The best performers of the session on the S&P/BMV IPC were Banco Del Bajio SA Institution De Banca Multiple (BMV:BBAJIOO), which rose 3.20% or 1.73 points to trade at 55.80 at the close. Meanwhile, Grupo Mexico, S.A.B. De C.V. (BMV:GMEXICOB) added 2.77% or 2.66 points to end at 98.71 and Genomma Lab Internacional SAB De CV (BMV:LABB) was up 2.20% or 0.37 points to 17.18 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Qualitas Controladora, SAB De CV (BMV:Q), which fell 3.98% or 7.70 points to trade at 185.98 at the close. Alfa, S.A.B. De C.V. (BMV:ALFAA) declined 2.83% or 0.31 points to end at 10.66 and Gentera SAB de CV (BMV:GENTERA) was down 2.49% or 0.58 points to 22.67.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Mexico Stock Exchange by 116 to 114 and 16 ended unchanged.
Gold Futures for August delivery was down 0.06% or 1.30 to $2,335.30 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in August fell 0.27% or 0.22 to hit $81.52 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract fell 0.38% or 0.32 to trade at $84.94 a barrel.
USD/MXN was down 0.50% to 18.33, while EUR/MXN fell 0.58% to 19.63.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.01% at 105.56.
