Investing.com – Mexico stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Consumer Staples, Industrials and Materials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Mexico, the S&P/BMV IPC gained 0.15%.
The best performers of the session on the S&P/BMV IPC were Wal - Mart De Mexico, SAB De CV (MX:WALMEX), which rose 2.96% or 1.340 points to trade at 46.640 at the close. Meanwhile, PINFRA SAB De CV (MX:PINFRA) added 2.37% or 4.41 points to end at 190.78 and Kimberly - Clark De Mexico A (MX:KIMBERA) was up 2.19% or 0.750 points to 34.950 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Grupo Financiero Inbursa , SAB De CV (MX:GFINBURO), which fell 4.41% or 1.520 points to trade at 32.930 at the close. Genomma Lab Internacional SAB De CV (MX:LABB) declined 2.80% or 0.590 points to end at 20.450 and Cemex SAB de CV (MX:CMXCPO) was down 1.84% or 0.290 points to 15.480.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Mexico Stock Exchange by 180 to 150 and 20 ended unchanged.
Gold Futures for February delivery was up 0.67% or 9.00 to $1344.40 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in March rose 0.43% or 0.28 to hit $64.78 a barrel, while the April Brent oil contract fell 0.06% or 0.04 to trade at $68.85 a barrel.
USD/MXN was down 0.04% to 18.5936, while EUR/MXN fell 0.02% to 23.0830.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.08% at 88.95.
