Investing.com – Mexico stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Telecoms Services, Materials and Consumer Staples sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Mexico, the S&P/BMV IPC rose 0.12%.
The best performers of the session on the S&P/BMV IPC were Regional SAB de CV (BMV:RA), which rose 5.00% or 6.65 points to trade at 139.59 at the close. Meanwhile, Grupo Aeroportuario Del CentroNorte (BMV:OMAB) added 3.29% or 5.31 points to end at 166.64 and Grupo Aeroportuario del Pacifico SAB De CV Class B (BMV:GAPB) was up 2.58% or 7.47 points to 297.53 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Grupo Financiero Banorte (BMV:GFNORTEO), which fell 4.28% or 6.64 points to trade at 148.36 at the close. GCC SAB de CV (BMV:GCC) declined 3.57% or 6.63 points to end at 178.87 and Genomma Lab Internacional SAB De CV (BMV:LABB) was down 2.68% or 0.48 points to 17.41.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Mexico Stock Exchange by 167 to 81 and 15 ended unchanged.
Gold Futures for August delivery was up 0.70% or 16.70 to $2,392.20 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in July rose 2.00% or 1.48 to hit $75.55 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract rose 1.85% or 1.45 to trade at $79.86 a barrel.
USD/MXN was up 2.76% to 17.98, while EUR/MXN rose 2.85% to 19.58.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.14% at 104.07.
