Investing.com – Mexico stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Materials, Healthcare and Industrials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Mexico, the S&P/BMV IPC rose 0.07%.
The best performers of the session on the S&P/BMV IPC were Grupo Financiero Santander Mexico SAB de CV Class B (MX:BSMXB), which rose 2.49% or 0.700 points to trade at 28.820 at the close. Meanwhile, Gruma SAB de CV (MX:GRUMAB) added 2.31% or 5.31 points to end at 234.95 and Alfa, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ALFAA) was up 2.29% or 0.540 points to 24.120 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Grupo Financiero Inbursa , SAB De CV (MX:GFINBURO), which fell 3.97% or 1.150 points to trade at 27.800 at the close. Infraestructura Energetica Nova SAB (MX:IENOVA) declined 3.78% or 2.93 points to end at 74.54 and GMexico Transportes SA de CV (MX:GMXT) was down 2.81% or 0.770 points to 26.660.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Mexico Stock Exchange by 189 to 98 and 21 ended unchanged.
Gold Futures for February delivery was up 0.73% or 9.50 to $1318.40 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in March rose 1.82% or 0.97 to hit $54.28 a barrel, while the April Brent oil contract rose 0.70% or 0.43 to trade at $61.63 a barrel.
USD/MXN was up 0.60% to 19.0998, while EUR/MXN rose 1.04% to 21.9265.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.42% at 95.113.
