Investing.com – Mexico stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Materials, Telecoms Services and Industrials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Mexico, the S&P/BMV IPC gained 0.06% to hit a new 3-months high.
The best performers of the session on the S&P/BMV IPC were Grupo Financiero Santander Mexico SAB De CV (MX:SANMEXB), which rose 4.10% or 1.180 points to trade at 29.930 at the close. Meanwhile, Grupo LALA SA de CV (MX:LALAB) added 3.43% or 1.01 points to end at 30.49 and Kimberly - Clark De Mexico A (MX:KIMBERA) was up 2.19% or 0.750 points to 34.960 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Wal - Mart De Mexico, SAB De CV (MX:WALMEX), which fell 2.49% or 1.180 points to trade at 46.120 at the close. Megacable Holdings, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:MEGACPO) declined 1.99% or 1.720 points to end at 84.660 and Gentera SAB de CV (MX:GENTERA) was down 1.67% or 0.280 points to 16.510.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Mexico Stock Exchange by 162 to 131 and 16 ended unchanged.
Gold Futures for February delivery was down 0.69% or 9.40 to $1346.90 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in March fell 0.59% or 0.39 to hit $65.22 a barrel, while the March Brent oil contract fell 0.10% or 0.07 to trade at $70.04 a barrel.
USD/MXN was up 0.02% to 18.6138, while EUR/MXN fell 0.05% to 23.0494.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.19% at 89.19.
