Investing.com – Mexico stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Healthcare, Consumer Staples and Materials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Mexico, the S&P/BMV IPC rose 0.01%.
The best performers of the session on the S&P/BMV IPC were Genomma Lab Internacional SAB De CV (MX:LABB), which rose 3.58% or 0.450 points to trade at 13.020 at the close. Meanwhile, Alsea , S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ALSEA) added 2.10% or 1.080 points to end at 52.440 and Alfa, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ALFAA) was up 1.98% or 0.470 points to 24.170 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Industrias Penoles Sab De CV (MX:PENOLES), which fell 2.35% or 6.05 points to trade at 251.00 at the close. Coca Cola Femsa SAB De CV (MX:KOFL) declined 2.27% or 2.76 points to end at 118.75 and PINFRA SAB De CV (MX:PINFRA) was down 2.19% or 4.21 points to 187.67.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Mexico Stock Exchange by 148 to 135 and 16 ended unchanged.
Gold Futures for February delivery was up 0.36% or 4.65 to $1302.75 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in March fell 2.72% or 1.46 to hit $52.23 a barrel, while the April Brent oil contract fell 2.68% or 1.65 to trade at $59.94 a barrel.
USD/MXN was up 0.24% to 19.0245, while EUR/MXN rose 0.43% to 21.7416.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.04% at 95.425.
