Investing.com – Mexico stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Materials, Consumer Staples and Healthcare sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Mexico, the IPC rose 0.23%.
The best performers of the session on the IPC were Coca Cola Femsa SAB De CV (MX:KOFL), which rose 2.27% or 3.00 points to trade at 134.93 at the close. Meanwhile, Wal - Mart De Mexico, SAB De CV (MX:WALMEX) added 2.05% or 0.860 points to end at 42.860 and Mexichem , S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:MEXCHEM) was up 1.92% or 0.940 points to 49.890 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Gentera SAB de CV (MX:GENTERA), which fell 10.84% or 2.290 points to trade at 18.840 at the close. VOLARIS A (MX:VOLARA) declined 8.58% or 1.83 points to end at 19.50 and Grupo Financiero Santander Mexico SAB De CV (MX:SANMEXB) was down 4.29% or 1.460 points to 32.590.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Mexico Stock Exchange by 137 to 100 and 5 ended unchanged.
Shares in Gentera SAB de CV (MX:GENTERA) fell to 3-years lows; falling 10.84% or 2.290 to 18.840.
Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.78% or 10.03 to $1268.97 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in December rose 1.11% or 0.58 to hit $52.76 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract rose 1.78% or 1.04 to trade at $59.48 a barrel.
USD/MXN was up 0.78% to 19.1893, while EUR/MXN fell 0.58% to 22.3638.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 1.09% at 94.55.
