Investing.com – Mexico stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Materials, Healthcare and Consumer Staples sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Mexico, the IPC added 0.18%.
The best performers of the session on the IPC were Empresas ICA , S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ICA), which rose 25.00% or 0.590 points to trade at 2.950 at the close. Meanwhile, La Comercial (MX:LCMRUBC) added 4.33% or 0.78 points to end at 18.81 and Industrias Penoles Sab De CV (MX:PENOLES) was up 2.80% or 9.190 points to 337.110 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Grupo Financiero Banorte (MX:GFNORTEO), which fell 2.32% or 2.280 points to trade at 96.160 at the close. Mexichem , S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:MEXCHEM) declined 1.35% or 0.540 points to end at 39.550 and Alfa, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ALFAA) was down 1.33% or 0.420 points to 31.150.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Mexico Stock Exchange by 98 to 56 and 5 ended unchanged.
Shares in Industrias Penoles Sab De CV (MX:PENOLES) rose to 52-week highs; rising 2.80% or 9.190 to 337.110.
Gold for August delivery was up 0.22% or 2.85 to $1301.25 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in July rose 4.07% or 1.88 to hit $48.09 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract rose 4.37% or 2.06 to trade at $49.25 a barrel.
USD/MXN was down 0.52% to 18.8415, while EUR/MXN fell 0.05% to 21.2498.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.51% at 94.29.
