Investing.com – United Arab Emirates stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Insurance, Telecoms and Finance & Investment sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Dubai, the DFM General fell 0.57%, while the ADX General index fell 0.20%.
The best performers of the session on the DFM General were Dubai Parks and Resorts PJSC (DU:DUBA), which rose 1.56% or 0.020 points to trade at 1.300 at the close. Meanwhile, AJMAN BANK PJSC (DU:AJBNK) added 1.05% or 0.020 points to end at 1.930 and Emirates NBD PJSC (DU:ENBD) was up 0.99% or 0.100 points to 10.200 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Oman Insurance Company P.S.C. (DU:OIC), which fell 9.81% or 0.260 points to trade at 2.390 at the close. Gulf General Investments Company (DU:GGIC) declined 3.44% or 0.034 points to end at 0.955 and Takaful House (DU:DTKF) was down 3.21% or 0.020 points to 0.603.
The top performers on the ADX General were National Marine Dredging PSC (AD:NMDC) which rose 15.00% to 5.75, Ad Shipbldg Co (AD:ADSB) which was up 11.63% to settle at 2.88 and Gulf Pharm Ind (AD:GPHI) which gained 3.46% to close at 2.69.
The worst performers were Methaq (AD:METH) which was down 3.25% to 1.190 in late trade, Int Fish Farmi (AD:ASMK) which lost 3.23% to settle at 6.00 and Rak Ceramics (AD:RKCE) which was down 3.16% to 3.37 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Dubai Stock Exchange by 21 to 6 and 2 ended unchanged; on the Abu Dhabi Stock Exchange, 15 fell and 10 advanced.
Shares in Dubai Parks and Resorts PJSC (DU:DUBA) rose to all time highs; gaining 1.56% or 0.020 to 1.300. Shares in Oman Insurance Company P.S.C. (DU:OIC) fell to all time lows; down 9.81% or 0.260 to 2.390.
Crude oil for September delivery was up 1.42% or 0.64 to $45.81 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in September rose 1.26% or 0.62 to hit $50.15 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 0.06% or 0.70 to trade at $1090.10 a troy ounce.
USD/AED was unchanged 0.00% to 3.6730, while EUR/AED rose 0.15% to 4.0284.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.15% at 97.46.
