Investing.com – Japan stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Paper & Pulp, Railway & Bus and Real Estate sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Tokyo, the Nikkei 225 fell 2.01%.
The best performers of the session on the Nikkei 225 were DeNA Co Ltd (T:2432), which rose 1.96% or 38.0 points to trade at 1972.0 at the close. Meanwhile, NEC Corp. (T:6701) added 0.99% or 45.0 points to end at 4610.0 and Yahoo Japan Corp. (T:4689) was up 0.65% or 2.0 points to 312.0 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Sumitomo Dainippon Pharma Co Ltd (T:4506), which fell 4.93% or 89.0 points to trade at 1715.0 at the close. Nippon Suisan Kaisha, Ltd. (T:1332) declined 4.75% or 29.0 points to end at 582.0 and Takara Holdings Inc. (T:2531) was down 4.63% or 50.0 points to 1029.0.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Tokyo Stock Exchange by 3054 to 508 and 151 ended unchanged.

The Nikkei Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of Nikkei 225 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 16.90.
Crude oil for November delivery was down 0.15% or 0.08 to $52.56 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in December fell 0.42% or 0.24 to hit $57.45 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.19% or 2.85 to trade at $1505.05 a troy ounce.
USD/JPY was up 0.06% to 107.23, while EUR/JPY fell 0.00% to 117.44.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.09% at 98.782.
