Investing.com – Japan stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the Rubber, Manufacturing and Steel sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Tokyo, the Nikkei 225 declined 0.87%.
The best performers of the session on the Nikkei 225 were SUMCO Corp. (T:3436), which rose 10.72% or 275.0 points to trade at 2841.0 at the close. Meanwhile, Marui Group Co., Ltd. (T:8252) added 6.63% or 116.0 points to end at 1866.0 and Chiyoda Corp. (T:6366) was up 4.35% or 33.0 points to 792.0 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Dai Nippon Printing Co., Ltd. (T:7912), which fell 8.83% or 246.0 points to trade at 2541.0 at the close. Bridgestone Corp. (T:5108) declined 7.70% or 417.0 points to end at 5000.0 and Toshiba Corp. (T:6502) was down 5.44% or 17.0 points to 295.5.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Tokyo Stock Exchange by 2034 to 1251 and 210 ended unchanged.

The Nikkei Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of Nikkei 225 options, was up 23.19% to 21.25 a new 6-months high.
Crude oil for December delivery was down 0.21% or 0.12 to $57.05 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in January fell 0.27% or 0.17 to hit $63.76 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.24% or 3.09 to trade at $1284.41 a troy ounce.
USD/JPY was up 0.06% to 113.54, while EUR/JPY rose 0.04% to 132.14.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.06% at 94.48.
