Investing.com – Japan stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Mining, Transportation Equipment and Insurance sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Tokyo, the Nikkei 225 fell 0.45%.
The best performers of the session on the Nikkei 225 were Taisei Corp. (T:1801), which rose 2.31% or 25.0 points to trade at 1105.5 at the close. Meanwhile, Kobe Steel, Ltd. (T:5406) added 2.00% or 25.0 points to end at 1275.5 and Yaskawa Electric Corp. (T:6506) was up 1.70% or 55.0 points to 3290.0 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Familymart Ltd (T:8028), which fell 3.70% or 220.0 points to trade at 5730.0 at the close. SKY Perfect JSAT Holdings Inc. (T:9412) declined 3.69% or 19.0 points to end at 496.0 and Aeon Co., Ltd. (T:8267) was down 2.50% or 41.5 points to 1621.0.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Tokyo Stock Exchange by 1668 to 1469 and 307 ended unchanged.
Shares in Taisei Corp. (T:1801) rose to all time highs; rising 2.31% or 25.0 to 1105.5. Shares in Familymart Ltd (T:8028) fell to 52-week lows; down 3.70% or 220.0 to 5730.0.
The Nikkei Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of Nikkei 225 options, was down 4.47% to 14.52.
Crude oil for October delivery was up 0.69% or 0.32 to $46.89 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in November rose 0.25% or 0.13 to hit $51.55 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 1.15% or 15.12 to trade at $1330.42 a troy ounce.
USD/JPY was down 0.69% to 108.50, while EUR/JPY fell 0.08% to 130.75.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.54% at 91.67.
