Investing.com – Japan stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Paper & Pulp, Railway & Bus and Real Estate sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Tokyo, the Nikkei 225 declined 0.44%.
The best performers of the session on the Nikkei 225 were CyberAgent Inc (T:4751), which rose 2.41% or 160.0 points to trade at 6790.0 at the close. Meanwhile, Tokai Carbon Co., Ltd. (T:5301) added 2.17% or 26.0 points to end at 1226.0 and Sony Corp (T:6758) was up 1.69% or 131.0 points to 7900.0 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Tokyo Electric Power Co., Inc. (T:9501), which fell 4.98% or 15.0 points to trade at 286.0 at the close. J.Front Retailing Co., Ltd. (T:3086) declined 4.60% or 40.0 points to end at 829.0 and Takashimaya Co., Ltd. (T:8233) was down 4.58% or 39.0 points to 813.0.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Tokyo Stock Exchange by 2333 to 1179 and 181 ended unchanged.
Shares in Tokai Carbon Co., Ltd. (T:5301) rose to 52-week highs; gaining 2.17% or 26.0 to 1226.0.
The Nikkei Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of Nikkei 225 options, was unchanged 0% to 20.83.
Crude oil for December delivery was down 0.27% or 0.11 to $40.95 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in December fell 0.42% or 0.18 to hit $42.44 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.42% or 8.10 to trade at $1903.60 a troy ounce.
USD/JPY was up 0.09% to 105.52, while EUR/JPY rose 0.08% to 124.14.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.05% at 93.472.
