Investing.com – Japan stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Electrical/Machinery, Power and Precision Instruments sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Tokyo, the Nikkei 225 lost 0.31%.
The best performers of the session on the Nikkei 225 were Shinsei Bank, Ltd. (T:8303), which rose 924.64% or 1595.0 points to trade at 1767.5 at the close. Meanwhile, Nippon Yusen K.K (T:9101) added 915.54% or 2156.1 points to end at 2391.6 and NEC Corp. (T:6701) was up 902.18% or 2684.0 points to 2981.5 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Isuzu Motors, Ltd. (T:7202), which fell 3.32% or 51.0 points to trade at 1485.0 at the close. Matsui Securities Co., Ltd. (T:8628) declined 3.10% or 27.0 points to end at 845.0 and SKY Perfect JSAT Holdings Inc. (T:9412) was down 3.09% or 16.0 points to 502.0.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Tokyo Stock Exchange by 1752 to 1537 and 188 ended unchanged.

The Nikkei Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of Nikkei 225 options, was up 6.85% to 14.98.
Crude oil for November delivery was up 0.08% or 0.04 to $51.92 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in December fell 0.19% or 0.11 to hit $57.81 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.69% or 8.92 to trade at $1292.78 a troy ounce.
USD/JPY was up 0.53% to 112.84, while EUR/JPY rose 0.05% to 132.44.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.50% at 93.27.
