Investing.com – Japan stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the Transport, Marine Transport and Warehousing sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Tokyo, the Nikkei 225 declined 0.10%.
The best performers of the session on the Nikkei 225 were Kansai Electric Power Co Inc (TYO:9503), which rose 4.98% or 119.00 points to trade at 2,510.00 at the close. Meanwhile, Sumitomo Corp. (TYO:8053) added 4.37% or 180.00 points to end at 4,300.00 and J.Front Retailing Co., Ltd. (TYO:3086) was up 3.68% or 50.50 points to 1,422.50 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Sumitomo Dainippon Pharma Co Ltd (TYO:4506), which fell 6.75% or 27.00 points to trade at 373.00 at the close. CyberAgent Inc (TYO:4751) declined 4.09% or 40.20 points to end at 942.20 and Mazda Motor Corp (TYO:7261) was down 3.24% or 58.00 points to 1,730.00.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Tokyo Stock Exchange by 0 to 0.

The Nikkei Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of Nikkei 225 options, was down 3.63% to 19.91.
Crude oil for June delivery was up 0.67% or 0.52 to $78.63 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in July rose 0.61% or 0.51 to hit $83.47 a barrel, while the June Gold Futures contract rose 0.58% or 13.50 to trade at $2,322.10 a troy ounce.
USD/JPY was up 0.55% to 153.82, while EUR/JPY rose 0.51% to 165.51.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.12% at 105.04.
