Investing.com – Japan stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Power, Real Estate and Insurance sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Tokyo, the Nikkei 225 rose 3.88%.
The best performers of the session on the Nikkei 225 were Fujikura Ltd. (TYO:5803), which rose 11.41% or 407.00 points to trade at 3,974.00 at the close. Meanwhile, Sumitomo Dainippon Pharma Co Ltd (TYO:4506) added 10.36% or 52.00 points to end at 554.00 and Hitachi Ltd (TYO:6501) was up 7.77% or 264.00 points to 3,660.00 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Mercari Inc (TYO:4385), which fell 1.15% or 24.00 points to trade at 2,072.00 at the close. Pacific Metals Co., Ltd. (TYO:5541) declined 1.06% or 15.00 points to end at 1,398.00 and Dentsu Inc. (TYO:4324) was down 1.01% or 43.00 points to 4,207.00.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Tokyo Stock Exchange by 3097 to 622 and 164 ended unchanged.

The Nikkei Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of Nikkei 225 options, was down 11.02% to 31.32.
Crude oil for September delivery was down 0.47% or 0.37 to $77.79 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in October fell 0.36% or 0.29 to hit $80.75 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.07% or 1.65 to trade at $2,494.05 a troy ounce.
USD/JPY was down 0.24% to 148.91, while EUR/JPY fell 0.13% to 163.58.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.07% at 102.74.
