Investing.com – Japan stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Banking, Chemical, Petroleum & Plastic and Financial Services sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Tokyo, the Nikkei 225 gained 3.37%.
The best performers of the session on the Nikkei 225 were Fujikura Ltd. (TYO:5803), which rose 10.96% or 333.00 points to trade at 3,371.00 at the close. Meanwhile, Ebara Corp. (TYO:6361) added 10.86% or 190.00 points to end at 1,940.00 and Rakuten Inc (TYO:4755) was up 9.22% or 71.90 points to 851.40 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Sharp Corp (TYO:6753), which fell 5.88% or 51.00 points to trade at 816.10 at the close. Meiji Holdings Co., Ltd. (TYO:2269) declined 5.11% or 186.00 points to end at 3,452.00 and Yamato Holdings Co., Ltd. (TYO:9064) was down 4.21% or 68.00 points to 1,546.00.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Tokyo Stock Exchange by 3066 to 736 and 95 ended unchanged.

The Nikkei Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of Nikkei 225 options, was down 2.87% to 45.28.
Crude oil for September delivery was down 0.57% or 0.46 to $79.60 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in October fell 0.67% or 0.55 to hit $81.75 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.06% or 1.60 to trade at $2,502.40 a troy ounce.
USD/JPY was up 0.47% to 147.88, while EUR/JPY rose 0.47% to 161.68.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.01% at 102.97.
