Investing.com – Japan stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Paper & Pulp, Warehousing and Rubber sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Tokyo, the Nikkei 225 rose 2.51% to hit a new 1-month high.
The best performers of the session on the Nikkei 225 were Idemitsu Kosan Co Ltd (TYO:5019), which rose 18.29% or 634.00 points to trade at 4,101.00 at the close. Meanwhile, Terumo Corp. (TYO:4543) added 11.45% or 486.00 points to end at 4,731.00 and Ebara Corp. (TYO:6361) was up 9.70% or 704.00 points to 7,960.00 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Dentsu Inc. (TYO:4324), which fell 8.73% or 385.00 points to trade at 4,027.00 at the close. T&D Holdings, Inc. (TYO:8795) declined 8.31% or 218.50 points to end at 2,412.00 and Marui Group Co., Ltd. (TYO:8252) was down 7.02% or 172.00 points to 2,277.00.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Tokyo Stock Exchange by 2147 to 1473 and 259 ended unchanged.

The Nikkei Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of Nikkei 225 options, was down 2.30% to 19.54.
Crude oil for December delivery was up 0.73% or 0.57 to $78.69 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in January rose 0.57% or 0.47 to hit $82.94 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.35% or 6.80 to trade at $1,973.30 a troy ounce.
USD/JPY was up 0.18% to 150.65, while EUR/JPY rose 0.13% to 163.81.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.08% at 103.99.
