Investing.com – Japan stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Paper & Pulp, Railway & Bus and Real Estate sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Tokyo, the Nikkei 225 rose 1.35% to hit a new 6-months high.
The best performers of the session on the Nikkei 225 were ANA Holdings Inc (T:9202), which rose 7.18% or 175.5 points to trade at 2619.5 at the close. Meanwhile, Alps Electric Co., Ltd. (T:6770) added 6.77% or 105.0 points to end at 1655.0 and Konica Minolta, Inc. (T:4902) was up 5.88% or 19.0 points to 342.0 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were CyberAgent Inc (T:4751), which fell 3.35% or 200.0 points to trade at 5770.0 at the close. Nichirei Corp. (T:2871) declined 2.38% or 69.0 points to end at 2826.0 and Olympus Corp. (T:7733) was down 1.72% or 37.0 points to 2111.0.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Tokyo Stock Exchange by 2449 to 1082 and 184 ended unchanged.
The Nikkei Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of Nikkei 225 options, was unchanged 0% to 21.99.
Crude oil for October delivery was down 0.23% or 0.10 to $42.52 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in November rose 0.11% or 0.05 to hit $45.69 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.04% or 0.75 to trade at $1939.95 a troy ounce.
USD/JPY was up 0.20% to 106.19, while EUR/JPY rose 0.47% to 125.50.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.14% at 93.160.
