Investing.com – Japan stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Paper & Pulp, Railway & Bus and Real Estate sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Tokyo, the Nikkei 225 gained 1.13%.
The best performers of the session on the Nikkei 225 were Fujitsu Ltd. (T:6702), which rose 5.05% or 635.0 points to trade at 13205.0 at the close. Meanwhile, Mitsubishi Logistics Corp. (T:9301) added 4.30% or 115.0 points to end at 2789.0 and Denso Corp. (T:6902) was up 4.26% or 175.0 points to 4279.0 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were SKY Perfect JSAT Holdings Inc. (T:9412), which fell 4.93% or 22.0 points to trade at 424.0 at the close. Nippon Sheet Glass Co., Ltd. (T:5202) declined 2.78% or 11.0 points to end at 384.0 and Fujikura Ltd. (T:5803) was down 2.50% or 8.0 points to 312.0.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Tokyo Stock Exchange by 2195 to 1341 and 153 ended unchanged.

The Nikkei Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of Nikkei 225 options, was unchanged 0% to 30.86.
Crude oil for August delivery was up 0.72% or 0.28 to $39.00 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in August rose 0.88% or 0.36 to hit $41.41 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract rose 0.26% or 4.65 to trade at $1775.25 a troy ounce.
USD/JPY was down 0.13% to 107.05, while EUR/JPY fell 0.13% to 120.06.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.01% at 97.377.
