Investing.com – Japan stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Paper & Pulp, Railway & Bus and Real Estate sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Tokyo, the Nikkei 225 added 1.05% to hit a new 3-months high.
The best performers of the session on the Nikkei 225 were Isetan Mitsukoshi Holdings Ltd. (T:3099), which rose 5.24% or 44.0 points to trade at 883.0 at the close. Meanwhile, Yahoo Japan Corp. (T:4689) added 4.92% or 15.0 points to end at 320.0 and Mitsui Fudosan Co., Ltd. (T:8801) was up 4.67% or 115.5 points to 2586.5 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were CyberAgent Inc (T:4751), which fell 3.60% or 150.0 points to trade at 4015.0 at the close. NSK Ltd. (T:6471) declined 2.71% or 27.0 points to end at 969.0 and Sumitomo Dainippon Pharma Co Ltd (T:4506) was down 1.79% or 34.0 points to 1861.0.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Tokyo Stock Exchange by 2300 to 1217 and 210 ended unchanged.
The Nikkei Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of Nikkei 225 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 16.18.
Crude oil for October delivery was up 0.18% or 0.10 to $55.19 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in November rose 0.07% or 0.04 to hit $60.42 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.15% or 2.25 to trade at $1509.65 a troy ounce.
USD/JPY was down 0.06% to 108.03, while EUR/JPY rose 0.31% to 119.93.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.24% at 98.070.
