Investing.com – Japan stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Paper & Pulp, Railway & Bus and Real Estate sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Tokyo, the Nikkei 225 gained 0.99%.
The best performers of the session on the Nikkei 225 were IHI Corp. (T:7013), which rose 5.29% or 121.0 points to trade at 2407.0 at the close. Meanwhile, Advantest Corp. (T:6857) added 4.44% or 215.0 points to end at 5060.0 and Marubeni Corp. (T:8002) was up 4.05% or 28.1 points to 722.7 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were NKSJ Holdings, Inc. (T:8630), which fell 2.84% or 127.0 points to trade at 4351.0 at the close. CyberAgent Inc (T:4751) declined 1.45% or 60.0 points to end at 4090.0 and NEC Corp. (T:6701) was down 1.30% or 60.0 points to 4565.0.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Tokyo Stock Exchange by 2614 to 883 and 219 ended unchanged.
Shares in Advantest Corp. (T:6857) rose to 5-year highs; up 4.44% or 215.0 to 5060.0.
The Nikkei Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of Nikkei 225 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.15.
Crude oil for November delivery was up 0.38% or 0.20 to $52.95 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in December rose 0.51% or 0.30 to hit $58.65 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.40% or 6.05 to trade at $1498.35 a troy ounce.
USD/JPY was up 0.02% to 107.31, while EUR/JPY rose 0.10% to 117.81.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.01% at 98.653.
