Investing.com – Japan stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Paper & Pulp, Railway & Bus and Real Estate sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Tokyo, the Nikkei 225 added 0.97%.
The best performers of the session on the Nikkei 225 were Denso Corp. (T:6902), which rose 7.19% or 426.0 points to trade at 6351.0 at the close. Meanwhile, Shiseido Co., Ltd. (T:4911) added 7.18% or 493.0 points to end at 7364.0 and Mitsui Engineering & Shipbuilding (T:7003) was up 7.11% or 29.0 points to 437.0 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Tokyo Electric Power Co., Inc. (T:9501), which fell 5.54% or 22.0 points to trade at 375.0 at the close. Kyowa Hakko Kirin Co., Ltd. (T:4151) declined 3.77% or 120.0 points to end at 3065.0 and Tosoh Corp. (T:4042) was down 3.71% or 69.0 points to 1791.0.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Tokyo Stock Exchange by 2762 to 763 and 210 ended unchanged.

The Nikkei Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of Nikkei 225 options, was unchanged 0% to 25.64.
Crude oil for March delivery was up 1.06% or 0.57 to $54.12 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in April rose 0.96% or 0.54 to hit $56.87 a barrel, while the April Gold Futures contract fell 0.68% or 12.75 to trade at $1851.15 a troy ounce.
USD/JPY was up 0.08% to 105.00, while EUR/JPY rose 0.16% to 126.71.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.07% at 90.957.
