Investing.com – Japan stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Paper & Pulp, Railway & Bus and Real Estate sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Tokyo, the Nikkei 225 gained 0.96%.
The best performers of the session on the Nikkei 225 were Subaru Corp (T:7270), which rose 4.93% or 135.0 points to trade at 2874.0 at the close. Meanwhile, Nippon Express Co., Ltd. (T:9062) added 3.66% or 190.0 points to end at 5380.0 and Isetan Mitsukoshi Holdings Ltd. (T:3099) was up 3.43% or 26.0 points to 784.0 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were TOTO Ltd. (T:5332), which fell 2.05% or 80.0 points to trade at 3825.0 at the close. Sumitomo Metal Mining Co., Ltd. (T:5713) declined 1.82% or 54.0 points to end at 2913.5 and Rakuten Inc (T:4755) was down 1.49% or 15.0 points to 994.0.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Tokyo Stock Exchange by 2205 to 1230 and 274 ended unchanged.
The Nikkei Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of Nikkei 225 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 20.81.
Crude oil for October delivery was up 0.41% or 0.22 to $53.86 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in November rose 0.33% or 0.19 to hit $58.31 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.44% or 6.75 to trade at $1543.95 a troy ounce.
USD/JPY was down 0.47% to 105.62, while EUR/JPY fell 0.34% to 117.39.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.21% at 97.785.
