Investing.com – Japan stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Gas & Water, Electrical/Machinery and Marine Transport sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Tokyo, the Nikkei 225 rose 0.60%.
The best performers of the session on the Nikkei 225 were Nippon Electric Glass Co., Ltd. (TYO:5214), which rose 10.19% or 278.00 points to trade at 3,007.00 at the close. Meanwhile, Nisshin Seifun Group Inc. (TYO:2002) added 7.81% or 165.00 points to end at 2,277.00 and Sumitomo Dainippon Pharma Co Ltd (TYO:4506) was up 7.53% or 32.20 points to 460.00 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Panasonic Corp (TYO:6752), which fell 8.91% or 128.00 points to trade at 1,309.00 at the close. Mitsui O.S.K. Lines, Ltd. (TYO:9104) declined 5.80% or 239.00 points to end at 3,883.00 and Advantest Corp. (TYO:6857) was down 4.67% or 187.00 points to 3,815.00.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Tokyo Stock Exchange by 2787 to 873 and 187 ended unchanged.

The Nikkei Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of Nikkei 225 options, was up 4.96% to 23.71.
Crude oil for December delivery was up 0.40% or 0.33 to $82.64 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in January rose 0.31% or 0.27 to hit $86.62 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.00% or 0.05 to trade at $2,005.65 a troy ounce.
USD/JPY was up 0.77% to 150.24, while EUR/JPY rose 0.76% to 159.43.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.18% at 106.12.
