Investing.com – Japan stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Paper & Pulp, Railway & Bus and Real Estate sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Tokyo, the Nikkei 225 rose 0.52%.
The best performers of the session on the Nikkei 225 were Ebara Corp. (T:6361), which rose 6.25% or 265.0 points to trade at 4505.0 at the close. Meanwhile, CyberAgent Inc (T:4751) added 4.46% or 300.0 points to end at 7020.0 and Kawasaki Kisen Kaisha, Ltd. (T:9107) was up 4.38% or 105.0 points to 2500.0 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Japan Steel Works Ltd (T:5631), which fell 3.83% or 102.0 points to trade at 2561.0 at the close. Shionogi & Co., Ltd. (T:4507) declined 2.96% or 180.0 points to end at 5908.0 and Ricoh Co., Ltd. (T:7752) was down 2.60% or 32.0 points to 1198.0.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Tokyo Stock Exchange by 2432 to 1113 and 201 ended unchanged.
Shares in Ebara Corp. (T:6361) rose to 3-years highs; up 6.25% or 265.0 to 4505.0. Shares in Kawasaki Kisen Kaisha, Ltd. (T:9107) rose to 52-week highs; gaining 4.38% or 105.0 to 2500.0.
The Nikkei Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of Nikkei 225 options, was unchanged 0% to 22.42.
Crude oil for April delivery was down 1.04% or 0.68 to $64.71 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in May fell 0.96% or 0.66 to hit $68.22 a barrel, while the April Gold Futures contract fell 0.17% or 2.95 to trade at $1726.25 a troy ounce.
USD/JPY was up 0.10% to 109.22, while EUR/JPY rose 0.02% to 130.18.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.13% at 91.948.
