Investing.com – Japan stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Paper & Pulp, Railway & Bus and Real Estate sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Tokyo, the Nikkei 225 added 0.45%.
The best performers of the session on the Nikkei 225 were Aeon Co., Ltd. (T:8267), which rose 6.81% or 135.0 points to trade at 2118.0 at the close. Meanwhile, Asahi Glass Co., Ltd. (T:5201) added 3.87% or 125.0 points to end at 3355.0 and Shin-Etsu Chemical Co., Ltd. (T:4063) was up 3.68% or 410.0 points to 11550.0 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Daiichi Sankyo Co., Ltd. (T:4568), which fell 1.90% or 126.0 points to trade at 6496.0 at the close. Nikon Corp. (T:7731) declined 1.82% or 24.0 points to end at 1297.0 and Haseko Corp (T:1808) was down 1.56% or 20.00 points to 1259.00.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Tokyo Stock Exchange by 2272 to 1106 and 259 ended unchanged.
The Nikkei Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of Nikkei 225 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.02.
Crude oil for November delivery was down 0.49% or 0.26 to $52.33 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in December fell 0.45% or 0.26 to hit $58.06 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.12% or 1.85 to trade at $1514.65 a troy ounce.
USD/JPY was down 0.08% to 107.38, while EUR/JPY rose 0.36% to 118.29.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.30% at 98.518.
