Investing.com – Japan stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Paper & Pulp, Warehousing and Rubber sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Tokyo, the Nikkei 225 rose 0.43% to hit a new 1-month high.
The best performers of the session on the Nikkei 225 were Taisei Corp. (TYO:1801), which rose 6.47% or 330.00 points to trade at 5,432.00 at the close. Meanwhile, Isuzu Motors, Ltd. (TYO:7202) added 4.18% or 78.00 points to end at 1,943.00 and Sumitomo Electric Industries Ltd. (TYO:5802) was up 3.88% or 70.50 points to 1,886.50 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Kajima Corp. (TYO:1812), which fell 5.11% or 125.50 points to trade at 2,330.00 at the close. DIC Corp (TYO:4631) declined 5.04% or 123.50 points to end at 2,326.00 and Mitsubishi Estate Co Ltd (TYO:8802) was down 4.27% or 85.00 points to 1,905.00.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Tokyo Stock Exchange by 1931 to 1705 and 223 ended unchanged.
Shares in Taisei Corp. (TYO:1801) rose to 5-year highs; up 6.47% or 330.00 to 5,432.00. Shares in Sumitomo Electric Industries Ltd. (TYO:5802) rose to 5-year highs; gaining 3.88% or 70.50 to 1,886.50.
The Nikkei Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of Nikkei 225 options, was down 2.30% to 19.54.
Crude oil for December delivery was up 0.14% or 0.11 to $78.37 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in January rose 0.21% or 0.17 to hit $82.69 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.07% or 1.40 to trade at $1,948.80 a troy ounce.
USD/JPY was unchanged 0.00% to 151.71, while EUR/JPY fell 0.02% to 162.28.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.07% at 105.57.
