Investing.com – Japan stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Power, Manufacturing and Glass sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Tokyo, the Nikkei 225 added 0.18% to hit a new 3-months high.
The best performers of the session on the Nikkei 225 were Maruha Nichiro Corp (T:1333), which rose 5.69% or 210.0 points to trade at 3900.0 at the close. Meanwhile, Tokyo Electric Power Co., Inc. (T:9501) added 5.67% or 32.0 points to end at 596.0 and Marubeni Corp. (T:8002) was up 4.76% or 39.1 points to 860.0 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Tokyo Tatemono Co., Ltd. (T:8804), which fell 4.23% or 72.0 points to trade at 1631.0 at the close. Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, Ltd. (T:7011) declined 4.04% or 173.0 points to end at 4113.0 and Advantest Corp. (T:6857) was down 3.58% or 100.0 points to 2691.0.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Tokyo Stock Exchange by 2238 to 1133 and 194 ended unchanged.

The Nikkei Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of Nikkei 225 options, was up 1.65% to 15.42.
Crude oil for June delivery was down 1.30% or 0.92 to $69.81 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in July fell 0.96% or 0.73 to hit $75.44 a barrel, while the June Gold Futures contract fell 0.17% or 2.20 to trade at $1311.90 a troy ounce.
USD/JPY was down 0.06% to 109.03, while EUR/JPY fell 0.36% to 129.60.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.29% at 92.88.
