Investing.com – Japan stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Paper & Pulp, Railway & Bus and Real Estate sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Tokyo, the Nikkei 225 added 0.13%.
The best performers of the session on the Nikkei 225 were Tokuyama Corp. (T:4043), which rose 3.69% or 100.0 points to trade at 2812.0 at the close. Meanwhile, Daiichi Sankyo Co., Ltd. (T:4568) added 3.25% or 188.0 points to end at 5977.0 and NTT Data Corp. (T:9613) was up 3.20% or 44.0 points to 1418.0 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were CyberAgent Inc (T:4751), which fell 4.80% or 190.0 points to trade at 3765.0 at the close. Familymart Ltd (T:8028) declined 2.86% or 77.0 points to end at 2615.0 and SKY Perfect JSAT Holdings Inc. (T:9412) was down 2.78% or 12.0 points to 420.0.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Tokyo Stock Exchange by 1800 to 1684 and 241 ended unchanged.
The Nikkei Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of Nikkei 225 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 16.00.
Crude oil for August delivery was up 0.91% or 0.52 to $57.95 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in September rose 0.37% or 0.24 to hit $64.69 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract rose 0.55% or 7.65 to trade at $1407.75 a troy ounce.
USD/JPY was up 0.10% to 107.41, while EUR/JPY rose 0.35% to 122.36.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.14% at 95.583.
